Before going further, there are several things you need to prepare, such as:
- Android phone (both for the camera and for the viewer/monitoring device).

There are of course some settings you need to do to be able to use your unused android phone for security camera. Please follow on below setting methods:
Setting the Phone for the Camera
- Connect your Android phone to the internet connection.
- Download and install Alfred Home Security App from your Playstore.
- Open the app, and you can skip all the intro messages.
- Please choose or set your phone as the camera (see below screenshot) and click on “NEXT“.
- Sign in with your Google account.
- Allow when the app request permission access. DONE.
After finishing the above steps, your Android phone is set as the security camera. You can set more than one phone as the camera. So if you want to monitor more than one spot or place, you can do it by locating the Android security camera in each place. You only need to do the above setting in each of your Android phone you want to use.
Setting Android Phone as Viewer of Security Camera
After finish the setting of the camera, now you will need to set your Android phone as the viewer. Follow the below steps for it.
- Connect your phone to the internet.
- Download and install Alfred Home Security App from your Playstore or Apple Store.
- Open the app, and you can skip all the intro messages.
- Please choose or set your phone as the “Viewer“, and click on “NEXT“.
- Sign in with your Google account (the same account that you use to sign in the Camera phones).
- Allow when the app request permission access. DONE.
From the Alfred home screen in your viewer phone, you will see the list of all the cameras you are connecting. Therefore, you will be able to monitor each of the spot or place simply by choosing from the list.
Advance Settings
The app also serves you with more advance setting options you may need. You can set the motion detection if you need as below:

- From your camera phone, press the “Home” icon >> “Motion Detection“
- Turn ON
- Select the sensitivity (you can choose High, Medium or Low) based on your need. Done!
Features of Alfred Android Security Camera App
- Ability to switch between the front or rear camera of your camera phone just from the viewer phone setting.
- You can monitor the camera from both your phone or computer. Not only a limited connection to your viewer phone, but you can also monitor your Android security camera from your computer. To do this, you can access THIS LINK and then, log in to the Google account you use in the camera phone. Additionally, the web viewer offers more options, like the Zoom option.
- Flexibility. When you are to use your Android phone for security camera using the Alfred Security Camera app, it offers you more flexibility. Why, because actually, you can use Alfred for the iOS phones as well.
